How Should Health Professionalism Be Redefined to Address Health Equity?

Increasing focus on health equity is placing a spotlight professionals' roles. Recent public crises-the opioid epidemic, maternal mortality, and the COVID-19 pandemic-have renewed racial ethnic inequity underscored that trust foundational to professionalism. Organizational, system, policy reform demand professionalism be redefined in terms of its capacity motivate professions education clinical practice.
